Head Coach Conner Lash Headshot

Conner Lash was named the head men’s golf coach at Wright State University in August 2021. Now in his fourth season at the helm, Lash has elevated the program into a consistent contender not only in the Horizon League, but also on the national stage.

Under his leadership, the Raiders have compiled an impressive 460-123-4 record in head-to-head competition, maintaining a .790 winning percentage. His commitment to excellence, paired with a relentless attention to detail, has laid the foundation for sustained team and individual success.

During Lash’s tenure, Wright State has captured three Horizon League Team Championships and produced three Individual League Champions. His players have earned 14 All-League honors, with four named Horizon League Player of the Year, two earning Freshman of the Year, and two selected as Ping All-Region honorees—a testament to the player development happening within the program.

Team performance has followed suit, with 19 team victories, including a remarkable nine wins in a single season, and 21 individual tournament champions across nine different players—showcasing the depth and talent built under Lash’s leadership.

In 2021–22, Lash led the Raiders to a 9th-place finish at the NCAA Columbus Regional, finishing just six strokes shy of advancing to the NCAA Championship Finals. That postseason was highlighted by top 15 finishes from Davis Root and Tyler Goecke. A year later, Mikkel Mathiesen and Goecke qualified for NCAA Regionals individually, with Mathiesen finishing just one stroke short of a National Championship berth—further proving Wright State’s ability to compete with the nation’s top programs.

Wright State has climbed as high as No. 66 in the national rankings, surpassing numerous Power 5 programs and cementing its status as a legitimate force on the college golf landscape.

Prior to coaching, Lash spent time on the LPGA Tour as a professional caddie, gaining firsthand insight into elite competition and course strategy. That experience has translated into a coaching style rooted in preparation, mental toughness, and situational awareness—traits that now define the culture of Raider Golf.

Coach Lash continues to lead Wright State with a clear vision: to develop driven student-athletes who compete at the highest level and represent the university with pride. With momentum on their side, the Raiders are well-positioned for even greater success in the years ahead.
